Indianapolis Symphonic Choir Commission Competition

I'm pleased to announce that my piece, "The Christ Child," is the 2019 Winner of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir's Christmas Commission Competition!

I actually learned about this competition through fellow Bob Jones University alumni friends (Molly Ijames, Joey Hoelscher, and Brian Buda) who won while I was studying at BJU. This was my 3rd submission in 3 separate years! My other two submissions ("O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "Cradle Lullaby") were both accepted by Choristers Guild for publication, but didn't make the cut for the contest.

I tend not to post about the publication rejections (just received my 5th this year!) or contests I've lost. It's much easier to post about the celebrations! Thankful that in this instance, I kept submitting pieces and saw this victory. I'm excited to hear the piece premiered in December!
